Martha Cox Hart

This scholarship was set up in honor and memory of my grandmother by three of her children in recognition of her long and distinguished career as an elementary school teacher. She began teaching in a one room schoolhouse bordering their property in Rush, NY and had her own kids in class alongside many others. A born teacher, she was loved by many. Her daughter Alice Hart Kneller, also a teacher, was in the Class of 1930 at Geneseo and thought it fitting to recognize both her mother and Genesco’s fine education program. Her brothers concurred.
