Dr. James and Arleen Somerville First Generation Scholarship Endowment

The Dr. James and Arleen Somerville First Generation Scholarship Endowment provides a minimum scholarship amount of $4,000 and was established by Dr. James K. Somerville, Emeritus Professor of History at SUNY Geneseo, and his wife, Arleen Somerville.
CRITERIA: This scholarship is awarded to a student who a) is a first generation college student, b) is a United States resident, and c) demonstrates financial need.
PROCESS: This scholarship may be awarded to more than one student if earnings are available. The minimum award amount is $4000. The scholarship is renewable for a maximum of four years providing a minimum 2.85 GPA is maintained both semesters of their first year, and 3.0 GPA is maintained in each semester the following three years.
