William Edward and Mary Cockram Morse Annual Scholarship Fund

The William Edward and Mary Cockram Morse Annual Scholarship Fund provides a $2,500 scholarship and was established by Mary Cockram Morse in memory of Mary’s mother Myrtle Belle (Smith) Cockram who graduated from Geneseo Normal School in 1934, and in memory of her aunt, Virginia Mae (Smith) Smith who graduated from Geneseo Normal School in 1935.
CRITERIA: The scholarship is awarded to a student at SUNY Geneseo a) enrolled in the School of Education and pursuing a career in teaching; b) Who will be spending a semester student teaching during the upcoming academic year; c) Who has at least two semesters remaining to complete at Geneseo; d) Who has at least a 3.0 GPA, and has demonstrated leadership, service to community, and financial need;
and e) with preference to a student who is willing to remain in personal contact with Mary Morse, who would very much like to maintain communication with her scholarship recipients.
